By adding your Local Surf Break you can start encouraging others to report back on surf conditions or beach activity where you surf. This means that when you create your profile you can add YOUR Surf Break to your daily Email Reports.
OPTION 1: Let us know the Surf Breaks details
Check that your surf break is not already on our database, Check Surf Breaks here . If it isn't there suggest that we add your Surf Break. We require the following details:
1. Country / Region
2. Province / State
3. City / Town
4. Surf Break Name
Email these details to info@sharesurf.info
OR
OPTION 2: Send a photo from your Surf Break
ShareSurf receives photos sent to any email address at the "sharesurf.info" domain. You don't need to know your Breaks email address, ShareSurf will set it up after receiving your mail.
How do you choose/create an email address to use?
Simply join your 'surf break' e.g. North Beach and 'city/area' e.g. Durban together and then add it to the beginning of "@sharesurf.info", this creates your surf breaks email address e.g. northdurban@sharesurf.info
Other examples:
Pipeline + Hawaii = pipelinehawaii@sharesurf.info ;
Nahoon + East London reef = nahooneastlondon@sharesurf.info
Make sure you give us a good idea of where the Surf Break is in the email address you create! So please no abbreviations. If we do decide to abbreviate we will let you know.

Getting Started
All you need in order to add your photos to ShareSurf is a normal camera and computer with an email facility, or a mobile phone with a camera. Generally we have found that mobile cameras with at least a 1 mega pixel resolution work best and anything over 1.3 mega pixels kicks butt.
It is important to ensure that you have activated Multimedia Messaging (MMS) on your phone as this is the key that allows you to send pictures to other mobile phones or to an email address.

Advertise your business
If your are a local business you should ensure that your Business Name, Business Address, and Business Telephone Number appear under each photo you send to ShareSurf. A few pictures a day are the easiest and cheapest way to ensure your business remains top of mind to those visiting your beach most often.

Add your favourite Surf Breaks to your Profile
Once logged in all your personal favourite surf spots will be available on your custom home page. You can then manage your Favourites list by adding or deleting them and even adding them to your list of Surf Break Email Reports.
Have Surf Break Report(s) emailed to you
Depending on the photos we have received you may receive an email report up to three times a day containing the last 10 images taken at your Surf Break. The standard times for these reports are 9am, 12pm, and 3pm.

Add your Profile name or Cell-tographer to your photos
It goes without saying, having 'Unregistered User' under your artwork doesn't hold a candle to 'Spuddy Boy' or 'Wingnut'... or does it?!

If you send great photos on a regular basis we may make you the featured cell-tographer for the month to show your work. If you are a business this will also highlight your business and increase your exposure.
